DescriptionAn editorial assignment for The World of Interiors on Fiord Fiesta — the café conceived by artist Sol Calero inside Bergen Kunsthall, where Caribbean colour is let loose in a sober Nordic building.
Calero paints the room as if it were a canvas: hand-rendered palms, tiled counters, patterned textiles and a light that shifts from tropical to grey Atlantic within the same hour. Our brief was to hold both temperatures in one frame.
We photographed across a single Bergen day, following daylight through the tall windows and letting the weather do the art direction — wide establishing frames of the room, then close studies of surface, pattern and hand-painted detail.
The edit is sequenced as a slow walk through the space: arrival, the counter, the seated middle of the room, and finally the details that only reveal themselves once you have stopped moving.
