DescriptionAn editorial story for A Journal On, commissioned by EY Doberman, photographed inside Nåva Space — the Oslo workshop where spacesuits are designed, sewn and tested by hand.
The room is half laboratory, half tailor's shop: cable spools and soldering irons on one bench, a sewing machine and white ripstop on the next, and a full pressure suit standing quietly in the dark at the end of it.
We photographed across one long day with Nima J. Shahinian, moving between portrait and detail — the visor and its rainbow bloom, gloves held like relics, felt-pen calculations written straight onto the hard upper torso.
The edit is sequenced as a build: the suit as object, then the hands and tools that make it, then the person inside it. Restrained daylight, deep shadow, and one warm break of colour to keep the engineering human.
